Which regex flavour does this use?+
JavaScript, the flavour your browser implements. Most patterns are portable, but lookbehind, named groups, and Unicode property escapes vary between languages — check before moving a pattern to Python or PCRE.
What do the g, i, and m flags do?+
g finds every match instead of stopping at the first, i ignores case, and m makes ^ and $ match at line boundaries rather than only at the start and end of the whole string.
